Our story begins when a Melbourne-based chef wanted to brew his favourite high-energy leaf, yerba maté, into something cold, fizzy and delicious.
After months of playing in his home kitchen, three flavours emerged: Original, Ginger and Hibiscus. Each stemmed from quality ingredients and were crafted with care.
Organic yerba maté leaves were gently steeped at a low temperature for the perfect balance of flavour. The result was a refreshing and moreish drink that left you feeling great.
He wanted people to be able to have one (or two) everyday and feel good about it, so he used only natural ingredients and skipped on adding any sugar.
Matéo offers you a different style of energy. It slowly builds up and has your back for longer with less of a crash.
Why and how you ask? As well as caffeine, the yerba maté leaf is lucky enough to contain theobromine and theophylline. Theobromine is also abundant in dark chocolate and is responsible for boosting your overall mood. The other, theophylline is found in green tea and is known to foster a sense of calm. All occuring naturally together in one leaf they create a focus-boosting, concentration-enhancing, and all round enjoyable experience.
We don’t want to tell you how to drink a drink, but it was paramount that Matéo was a versatile companion that you could enjoy in a range of scenarios. It pairs extremely well with food, so you can indeed order it at a restaurant, you can drink it on a night out or you can drink it to fuel your active adventures. You can also just grab a coldy from the fridge to quench your thirst.
